Bursaries

We are fortunate to be able to offer a small number of bursaries kindly provided by the International Union of Crystallography, the European Crystallographic Association and the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre.

These bursaries will cover up to a maximum of approximately 50% of the accommodation and meal costs for young participants (usually only for those under 30 years of age, but those under 35 may apply). Unfortuantely, funds are limited and we are unable to assist with travel costs.

Bursary applications will be assessed on a competitive basis, so a carefully written, but brief letter of application without exaggeration is worth the effort. A letter of request for bursary support, a letter of recommendation from your supervisor, confirmation that your entry for the World Directory of Crystallographers has been created, and a confirmation of student enrolment or employment status should be sent to Prof. Linden by e-mail before January 15, 2024.

To be eligible for a bursary, applicants must have already created an entry in the World Directory of Crystallographers. Bursaries sponsored by the European Crystallographic Association can only be awarded to those who are individual members of the ECA and resident in a country adhering to the ECA (join here - the annual fee is only 10 Euro). We will not consider your bursary application if these requirements have not been fullfilled by the closing date for applications.
