Chemistry of Quantum Materials

The long-term goal of our research is to design and develop complex materials for future societal needs. In particular, we are interested in the discovery of new materials with complex electronic and magnetic properties and in tuning materials properties by chemical control. To this end, we are elucidating the relationships between chemical bonding and properties of solids, especially with regard to emergent electronic and magnetic interactions. Our research interest spans over a broad range of topics in quantum materials, including small band-gap semiconductors, superconductors, and materials with complicated magnetic interactions.
