The EU is opening Starting Grant 2025, Synergy Grant 2025 and Consolidator Grant 2025 to researchers in Switzerland. This means they can take part in these important calls for the first time in three years.

Starting Grants assist the best starting researchers with excellent ideas to make the transition to independence by providing adequate support at the critical stage when they are setting up or consolidating their own research team or programme.
The University treats ERC Starting grants equivalently to Assistant Professors without tenure track, and the DoC preselects candidates in an interview round similar to the application process of an Assistant Professorship.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their application documents, including a cover letter and CV, in addition to the part B1 of their proposal using the provided template according to the university's guidelines .
