ChemCup

Welcome to ChemCup, the Department of Chemistry's annual sports tournament! Established in 2019 by Melanie Gut, Laurent Severy, and Michal Juríček, and currently organized by Stefanie Kammereck, Walker Marks, and Michal Juríček, ChemCup has been bringing together chemistry research groups for friendly yet fierce competition. The event features thrilling volleyball and soccer matches across two groups, culminating in exciting finals with a surprise discipline like bubble soccer (2022) and ultimate frisbee (2024), followed by a lively BBQ evening. This year's fifth-anniversary edition, High5, took place on June 13, drawing over 180 enthusiastic participants. ChemCup is proudly sponsored by the CMSZH Graduate School, the Department of Chemistry, and the ASVZ. A hallmark of ChemCup is its stunning trophy, sponsored by the Betty Sassella-Keller Legat, along with its vibrant flyer designs, which change annually, created by Michel Rickhaus.
