ChemCup

Established in 2019 by Melanie Gut, Laurent Severy, and Michal Juríček, ChemCup has become a summer tradition that brings together research groups from across the chemistry department for a day of sports and fun.

This year's 7th edition, themed #Fabulous7, took place on July 2 and welcomed more than 180 participants. The day was filled with volleyball and soccer matches, plenty of team spirit, and a bubble soccer final.

ChemCup has been proudly sponsored by the Department of Chemistry, UZH Alumni, Merck, ASVZ, the CMSZH Graduate School, Anton Paar, TopCC, and Chopfab.

A few traditions deserve a special mention: the ChemCup trophy is sponsored by the Betty Sassella–Keller Legat, the event flyers are designed each year by Michel Rickhaus, and the last three editions have been captured in photos and videos by Matúš Okajček.

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who has been part of the ChemCup organizing team over the years: Melanie Gut, Laurent Severy, Stefanie Kammereck, Walker Marks, Florian Täschler, Abdul Sadiq, Frederik Dombrowski, and Michal Juríček, as well as all supporters, helpers, and participants!
