Prof. Dr. Michal Juríček

Michal Juríček is from Prievidza in Slovakia and received his Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Comenius University in Bratislava in 2005. He then moved to Nijmegen in The Netherlands to pursue his PhD at Radboud University Nijmegen under the supervision of Professor Alan E. Rowan. In 2011, Michal received Dutch fellowship Rubicon (from The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research and Marie Curie Cofund Action) and went to spend two years at Northwestern University in Evanston, United States as a postdoctoral scholar in the group of Professor Sir J. Fraser Stoddart. In 2013, he returned to Europe and started his independent research career at the University of Basel, funded by the Ambizione fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation and hosted in the group of Professor Marcel Mayor. As of April 1, 2017, Michal is an Assistant Professor at UZH, where his research is supported by the European Research Council and the Swiss National Science Foundation.
