Department of Chemistry

Doktorandentag 2017

At the Doktorandentag 2017 the PhD students of the whole Department of Chemistry had the chance to see any further than just the topics of their own research.

A bunch of talks were presented at this special event, which was organised by four PhD students. Additionally, to the different talks from PhD students from the Department of Chemistry, two external speakers gave insights into their current work. Dr. Markus Heck, former PhD student of Prof. John Robinson and today Co-Founder and CEO of sourceIN GmbH, demonstrated in a very clear manner the importance of reporting and documentation of the experimental work. Dr. Andreas Hafner from BASF presented a personal view about chances and hurdles on the innovation process in a big chemical industry.

In the coffee breaks the poster sessions took place and the participants took the chance to discuss the newest results of their research with their colleagues.

The three poster awards went to Ellen Piel, Tobias von Arx and Raphael Liffert. Mathieu Szponarski won the best talk award.
