ERC Calls 2025: Access for researchers
The EU is opening Starting Grant 2025, Synergy Grant 2025 and Consolidator Grant 2025 to researchers in Switzerland. This means they can take part in these important calls for the first time in three years.

We invite applications for ERC Starting Grants 2025
Starting Grants assist the best starting researchers with excellent ideas to make the transition to independence by providing adequate support at the critical stage when they are setting up or consolidating their own research team or programme.
The University treats ERC Starting grants equivalently to Assistant Professors without tenure track, and the DoC preselects candidates in an interview round similar to the application process of an Assistant Professorship.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their application documents, following the university's guidelines using the provided Proposol templates B1 and B2.

We invite applications for ERC Synergy Grants 2025
Synergy Grants are intended for researchers who want to address a research problem so ambitious, that can not be dealt with by them and their team alone.
A group of two to maximum four Principal Investigators (PIs) working together and bringing different skills and resources to tackle ambitious research problems.
The University treats ERC Synergy grants equivalently to Assistant Professors without tenure track, and the DoC preselects candidates in an interview round similar to the application process of an Assistant Professorship.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their application documents, following the university's guidelines (UZH forms will be available soon).

ERC Consolidator Grants 2025
Consolidator Grants are intended to scientists who wants to consolidate their independence by establishing a research team and continuing to develop a success career in Europe or who have recently created an independent, excellent research team and want to strengthen it.
