Our strongly life-science directed research is centered around the investigation and characterisation of the manifold interactions of metal ions with nucleic acids. We combine techniques from coordination and analytical chemistry with those of structural biology, RNA-biochemistry, and biophysics, as we believe that interdisciplinarity is the key to understanding the specificity of nucleic acids - cation interaction.
