Accommondation and Meals
Accommodation will be in single rooms in the Ibis Zurich Messe Airport Hotel (3*) (Heidi Abel-Weg 5, Zurich-Oerlikon, 8050 Zurich, Tel: +41 44 307 47 00) a short tram ride from the university. Total travel time, including short walks at either end, is 25-30 minutes. The hotel is about 30 minutes by tram from the centre of Zürich and the main train station and less than 20 minutes by direct tram (no. 10) from Zürich airport. The hotel is close to the vibrant district of Oerlikon (shopping, restaurants, bars) and also operates an airport shuttle.
Details of the hotel and how to get there can be found on the hotel website. Check-in from 2 pm. Participants are expected to arrive before 18.30 on Monday, June 17 and remain until the morning of Saturday June 29. Departure on June 28 is strongly discouraged, because you would miss a fantastic final evening with all of your new friends where we give out the certificates of attendance and some other surprises. From past experience, the closing banquet is a night not to be missed!
The accommodation will be on a half-board basis in your choice of single or shared rooms. All breakfasts, evening meals and coffee breaks are included in the accommodation fee, with the exception of dinner on the free Sunday. The breakfasts will be at the hotel. Most evening 3-course meals will be at the Restaurant Riedbach, Hagenholzstrasse 104a, 8050 Zürich, near the hotel (first drink included, additional drinks are extra). Most lunches will be at the participant's own expense and can usually be obtained in the university cafeterias for about CHF 10-14 per day. The university cafeterias provide full hot meals, plus a range of lighter snacks, sandwiches, cakes, drinks, etc.
